South Jersey Pedestrian, 34, Killed In Hit-Run Crash: Police

A 34-year-old pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Cumberland County.

Bridgeton police responded to North Pearl and Myrtle streets at about 8:40 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17. 

Leonardo Sanchez-Salas, of Bridgeton, was found lying in the southbound lane of North Pearl Street, according to Bridgeton police. He was taken to Inspira Medical Center Vineland, where he was pronounced dead.

Sanchez-Salas was crossing the roadway when he was struck by a dark-colored Dodge minivan traveling south on Pearl Street, police said.

The victim was struck by two additional southbound vehicles, police said. Both of those drivers stopped and remained at the scene.
